this trip one section at a time. All distances mentioned are

The Nicola Subdivision covers the area from Kingsvale, Northeast to Nicola and Northwest to Spence's Bridge.

most northern point of our journey was Kingsvale, south of Merritt.
The railbed disappears several hundred meters south of what used to
be the station at Kingsvale, therefore the rider must pick up the
trail via an access path along the roadside near N 49.903976° W
120.910859°.
From there, the railbed travels in a southerly direction with little views or features until it passes underneath Highway #5 about 2.5km later.
